For the longest time, Ace didn’t wear any shoes, let alone toddler shoes. I would see a lot of kids his age, especially the little girls with all sorts of cute shoes, matching their outfits. But I stayed the course. My goal was to keep him out of shoes as long as possible. I wanted him to find his balance on his own and not be constricted to the structure of shoes.
So he wore only socks until after he started walking around 14 or 15 months. When he did start walking, we didn’t just put him in any shoes. His first toddler shoes were these pair of Pedipeds, and I loved them.
They helped him further get his balance without being too heavy or stiff. My only watchout is on the sizing. We ordered a second pair of Pediped toddler shoes, just one size up and they were humongous on him. Because they were so big, we had to go to a non-Pediped pair we already had.
Once he got into those other shoes, he actually never ended up wearing that second pair of Pedipeds. Add that to the list of things we spent money on and never ended up using. Oh well. Looks like Bea has a nice crispy pair of navy blue Pediped toddler shoes waiting for her.
