Hey ya’ll,
The progress on Ace’s big boy room is coming slowly but surely. It’s hard because I’m unable to help with most of it, so my husband has been tackling it all on his own.
So far, we’ve:
- Had the drywall repaired after last summer’s roof leak
- Painted the entire room light gray
- Sanded and repainted the crown molding that was damaged as part of the roof leak
- Taken all of the shelves, rods and supports out of the closet and patched and painted it
- Painted the part of the ceiling that got repaired
Things still to be done:
- Put the repaired crown molding back up
- Clean and recondition the wood floors
- Swap out the light fixture
- Have the closet installed
- Put together furniture (bookshelf, bed, table and chairs)
- Decorate the room
So it looks like we’re only about halfway done, but at least I’ll be able to help more with the stuff we have left. The extra-good news is that Ace is still super excited about his new big boy room and his new bed. He takes pride in the fact that he helped his dad work on it and peeks in there often just to make sure it’s still real.
